Ingredients

  • 300 g mushrooms
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 3 tablespoon olive oil
  • 15 g parsley
  • 4 slices bread (such as ciabatta)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and toast for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

  2. 2

Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and slice them into approximately 5 mm thick slices.

  3. 3

Press the garlic cloves with a garlic press into a large skillet with olive oil. Heat over medium heat for 1 minute until the garlic becomes fragrant.

  4. 4

Add the mushroom slices to the pan and sauté for 8-10 minutes, stirring regularly, until golden brown and the liquid has evaporated.

  5. 5

Season the mushrooms with salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Finely chop the parsley and sprinkle over the mushrooms.

  6. 6

Divide the toasted bread slices among plates and top with the warm garlic mushrooms. Serve immediately.

Tip from Garlicmaster: Press the garlic directly over the pan – this preserves all the aromatic oils. For extra flavor, add a small pinch of red pepper flakes.
